Thousands of Families have missed out so far on their entitlement to Reclaim Children’s Tax credit. This is a little known fact may well be worth between £500 to £1,500 to you and your partner. Free Money from the taxman
If you have a child that was born between April 1986 and April 2003 and you or your partner earned more than £6,000 or more during the tax year 2001 to 2002 and 2002 to 2003 then the taxman could well owe you up to £1,500.
The government of the day introduced a new initiative called ‘Children’s Tax Credit‘ to assist families with children. They did such a poor job of publicising it that many thousands of families missed out on their entitlement. Well it is now possible to reclaim Children’s Tax Credit for 2002 to 2003 tax year. The children’s tax credit was replaced after this date by the current Child Tax Credit.
Rest assured that this will not affect your current payments you receive for Working Tax Credits. Claim now before the time limit expires. All claims must be submitted by the 31st January 2009 - that’s the deadline
You can apply for this money from the taxman yourself by approaching the Inland Revenue or go to one of the many companies that will do it on your behalf for 20% to 25% of the claim awarded.
